1. These Terms

These are the terms and conditions on which we supply services to you. Please read these terms carefully before you book a service with us. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide services to you, how you and we may change or end the contract, and what to do if there is a problem.

3. Our Contract With You

3.1 Booking: Our acceptance of your booking will take place when we confirm the appointment (verbally or via email), at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us. 3.2 Coverage: We primarily cover Yorkshire. We reserve the right to decline bookings outside of our operational area.

4. Emergency Call-Outs & Urgent Repairs (Right to Cancel Waiver)

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CONSUMER RIGHTS: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you generally have a 14-day "cooling-off" period to cancel services booked at a distance.

HOWEVER, if you request an Emergency Call-Out or Urgent Repair:

  • You are expressly requesting us to carry out the work immediately to prevent damage to your property or for health and safety reasons.
  • By making this request, you acknowledge that you waive your right to the 14-day cancellation period once the work has commenced.
  • If you cancel after the engineer has been dispatched, you will remain liable for the full Call-Out Charge.

5. Charges and Payment

5.1 Call-Out Charge: We apply a Call-Out Charge for attending your property. This covers our diagnostic time and travel. This charge is payable upfront or immediately upon arrival, regardless of whether a repair is successfully effected (e.g., if parts need to be ordered). 5.2 Deposits: For large jobs (e.g., bathroom installations, boiler replacements), we require an upfront deposit. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel the work after materials have been purchased. 5.3 Completion Payment: The balance of the invoice is due immediately upon completion of the work. 5.4 VAT: All prices quoted are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate unless otherwise stated.

6. Our Guarantee

6.1 Labour Guarantee: We provide a 3-month guarantee on all labour/workmanship carried out by PlumbResponse Ltd. If a fault arises directly from our workmanship within 3 months, we will rectify it free of charge. 6.2 Exclusions: This guarantee does not cover:

  • Faults arising from pre-existing plumbing issues.
  • Parts or materials (these are covered by the manufacturer's warranty).
  • Blockages in drainage systems that reoccur due to misuse or structural defects.

7. Liability

7.1 We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill. 7.2 We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. 7.3 We are not liable for business losses. We only supply the services for domestic and private use.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the services in the English courts.
